Sensory Connections

All-Ages, Families and Caregivers. 
This program connects sensory families with resources in the community as well as other sensory families. 
Join us for a sensory storytime, a conversation with a DCSD speech language pathologist and a fun craft. 
Register each person attending.

Introduction to Music and Instruments – Milestone Pediatric Therapy Services

Join us for an 8-week class where students will learn introductory-level playing skills on the guitar, ukulele, piano, voice, and hand drums. Each session will focus on one of the instruments, including a session of musical experiences that would be used in music therapy. The course will be led by Bonnie Houpt, board-certified music therapist (MT-BC). The students will have a chance to learn new skills on each instrument, discover which instruments they like best, and play with their peers. Click Here for more information.

Saturday mornings from 10:00 am -11;00 am

Class is 8 weeks;

Starting Saturday January 25th – March 21st

(No class on February 15th) 

Night Light's

Night Lights, Inc. is a respite care organization for families who have children with special needs and their siblings between 1 month and 12 years old. Each child is paired 1:1 with a trained, background-checked volunteer. There is a nurse on site for all Night Lights events to tend to the children with medical needs. At each Night Lights evening, the children enjoy a variety of activities such as, sensory and gross motor play, arts and crafts, pet therapy, and movies while the parents/caregivers have the chance for self-care, a date, laundry, even grocery shopping. Read More ›

Parent Engagement Session

Please join the Douglas County School District Special Education Dept. for a parent engagement session on 12/12/19 at 12:00 pm at the DCSD administration building. During this session, you will learn about the legal requirements of how special education evaluations are conducted. Please see the flyer for additional details.
